FAQs
How long does therapy take?
Nothing substitutes a proper assessment to help you determine the right frequency and time spent in therapy. Every person is unique, and sometimes brief therapy is all one needs, while other times extended therapy (12+ sessions) may be required. You may notice the benefits of therapy even after a few sessions, though longer term work is often needed to appreciate longer term benefits.
Our goal is to help you eventually move out of therapy to live what you have learned; not to keep you in therapy indefinitely.
Do you accept insurance?
We are in-network with various insurance providers, however accept a limited number of clients who wish to use insurance and we only are able to accept in-network clients for virtual/telehealth sessions (not in person). Please see "‘Clinic Info” for more details.
For in-person sessions, we are an “out-of-network” provider, though we are able to provide superbills for services rendered that can often be submitted to providers for reimbursement.
A few things to ask when speaking to your insurance provider about your options for psychotherapy:
Do I have a deductible? If so, how much is that?
Do I need preauthorization? If so, can you grant me preauthorization to see this provider?
Is there a specific claim form I must use to submit claims and if so, where can I access it?
Is there a cap on the amount of therapy that I can claim per year?
CPT codes often used for therapy provided include: 90791, 90834 and 90847
Is it confidential?
Yes, with limitations that are all related to client and public safety. These limitations will be reviewed with your therapist during your first appointment, though speaking generally, if there are concerns for your safety or for the safety of others, if we are subpoenaed by the courts or if there is concern of abuse or neglect of a child under 18, we are required to report as a means to keep yourself and others safe from harm.
